Azerbaijan conducted $14.7-billion import-export operations with 138 countries in January-July, 2011, increasing the trade turnover volume 9.3% in comparison with the same period of last year.
The State Statistics Committee told APA, 83% or $14.5 billion of commodity exchanges were conducted with remote foreign countries, rising 6.1%. The volume of trade operations with the CIS countries was $2.9 billion and increased 32.7%.
Cost of exported goods reduced 3.3% and was $13.1 billion. 86.6% or $11.4 billion of goods were exported to the remote countries, 13.2% - to the CIS countries. Cost of commodities sent to the remote countries reduced 7.7%, but the commodities sent to the CIS countries increased by 36.1%.
“In comparison with the same period of last year, cost of imported goods was $4.3 billion increasing 47.1%. 71.5% or $3.1 billion of goods was imported from the remote foreign countries, 28.5% or $1.2-billion goods from the CIS countries”, the Committee said.
$8.8-billion positive balance was created in the Azerbaijan’s trade turnover in the first six months of this year, $8.3-billion positive balance – in the trade turnover with the remote foreign countries, $487.4-million – with the CIS countries. The positive balance was increased by 20.5% in the comparison with the outcomes of the similar period of last year.
