Azerbaijan becomes leader of region on number of mobile subcribers

In January-June, 2011, number of mobile subscribers increased by 518,965 to 9,629,000, official of the Ministry of Communications and IT Vali Zeynalov said at Saturday's board meeting.

“Transition from contour system into manat, increase of rivalry in mobile communications market and application of new technology caused price reduction of mobile phone service by 30%, roaming service by 20-50%. Now, the price of mobile phone services is at the same level with Eastern Europe countries”, he said.
