Azerbaijan attends meeting of UNESCAP’s expert group

Meeting of expert group of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) is being held in Thailand’s Bangkok, Ministry of Transport said.

The meeting, to be held between July 14 and 18 aims the preparation for meeting of UNESCAP member states’ transport ministers.

Note that, that meeting assumes great importance for determination and assessment of realization of Bangkok declaration passed on May 19, 2010. Representative of Azerbaijani Transport Ministry is attending the event as well.

Activity on phases (2007-2011 and 2012-2016) of regional development program of transport in Asia-Pacific Ocean region will also be considered at the meeting. The meeting to be held in November will consist of 2 stages – 2-day meeting of high-ranking officials and Ministers’ Conference.
