
“The parade was very successful, and we are happy with the successful joint cooperation between us and the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan and we are very proud of it”, president of South Africa’s Paramount Group Company Ivor Ichikowitz said.
“The project in Azerbaijan has been a successful project and we have successfully set up production facility, which has a potential to become a very large facility over the next couple of years so we are very excited about this development. The parade was more symbolic than anything else, because we had a facility to show what have been achieved between Paramount and MODIAR”, Ichikowitz said.
“We share the vision of President Ilham Aliyev about creating of defense industry in Azerbaijan and we wish to continue to grow this vision and to support the President’s mission. We are also very proud of the other successes of MODIAR. It is very young ministry, and even though it is very young it has very good successes. We’d obviously like to see our business in Azerbaijan to grow. We believe that vehicle project is a basis for a complete industrial complex in Azerbaijan, and we see a great potential for cooperation as well as in means of using Azerbaijan as an export base to other countries in region”, said Ichikowitz.
14 mine protected vehicles jointly produced by the Ministry of Defense Industry of Azerbaijan and Paramount Group paraded in Baku. 7 of them were Matador and 7 – Marauder. V-gear vehicles are equipped with the 14.5 and 12.7-caliber machine gun. It protects personnel from the anti-tank mines. Matador meets STANAG 4569 Level 4a and STANAG 4569 Level 4b, Marauder – STANAG 4569 Level 3a and STANAG 4569 Level 3b standards.
