18 June 2011 [15:20] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan State Caspian Sea Shipping Company (CASPAR) intends to increase delivery of oil cargo to 11.4 million tons compared over 8 million tons in 2010, CASPAR Exploitation Fleet Service Chief Sakit Melikov said to Caspian international transport conference Friday.

Melikov said CASPAR intends to increase total cargo deliveries to 16 million tons compared to over 11.5 million tons in 2010.

In January to May, 2011 the shipyard transported 5.15 million tons of cargo, including 3.35 million tons of liquid and roughly 1.8 million tons of dry cargo.

Under a memorandum of intentions signed with the Croatian Uljanik Shipyard(CASPAR) will receive four new ferries.

According to Melikov, two vessels will be supplied to CASPAR in October-November 2012 and the rest will come later.

The shipyard will manufacture ferries for Azerbaijan under the "2 +3" scheme.
One vessel’s construction cost will be 22 million euro.

The Azerbaijani state budget will allocate funds to purchase the ferries.

The vessels will meet international standards and international conventions in navigation. They will be ferries of a new and improved design. They will each hold up to 54 cars
