Decrease of oil production continues in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan decreased oil production in January-May, 2011, meanwhile it increased gas production.

SSC says during first 5 month of 2011, 20 mln tons of oil (down 5.2% from a year ago) and 10.7 bn cubic meters of gas (up 48.6% from a year ago) was produced in the country.

“Despite decrease of oil production, during January-May of 2011, oil production in the country soared 4.45 compared to previous year”, told the committee.

In general, the production in mining sector dropped 3.6% from a year ago.
