Baku to import 200 new buses

Baku will soon obtain 200 new passenger buses made by the Korean company DAEWOO, the head of the Secretariat of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Transport Namik Hasanov.

"New buses have been previously delivered to the capital," Hasanov said. "More new DAEWOO buses will be delivered in the next two months."

Hasanov said that after the delivery of the new buses, Baku's passenger transport needs will be met.

According to the State Statistics Committee, the republic imported 212 buses in January-April, a decrease of 26.9 percent since January-April 2010. The cost of importing buses for this period amounted to $9.84 million, with a 34.2 percent decrease from the same period last year.
