Azerbaijan to double gas production in the next 10 years

Annual gas production in Azerbaijan after 2020 will be 50-60 billion cubic meters, said the deputy vice-president of SOCAR Vitali Baylarbayov.

To him, consequently, there will occur need for supply of Azeri gas to external markets, as domestic consumption at that time will not exceed 15 billion cubic meters. He noted that after the development of II phase of ShahDaniz project, annual gas production could easily reach 40 billion cubic meters.

Note that, the projected oil production in Azerbaijan this year will be 51 million tons, gas - 29 billion cubic meters.
