Azerbaijan intends to sign new international gas contact

German RWE company intends to sign an agreement with SOCAR on production sharing (PSA) on the perspective gas structure of Nakhchivan located in the national sector of the Caspian Sea, deputy vice-president of SOCAR Vitali Baylarbayov said.

To him, Azerbaijan will continue its work in the gas sector in 2011-2012. Moreover, works are underway with European countries interested in the Nabucco project and ITGI (Italy-Turkey-Georgia). In addition, issue on approach of Azerbaijan a Georgian gas market is also on the agenda.

He added that Azerbaijan was interested in establishing of transparent transit route for gas exports to Europe.
