Azerbaijan attends session devoted to COPUOS’s jubilee events

Vienna is hosting the 54th session of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS).

Ministry of Communications and Information Technology said that, Azerbaijan is represented by the head of the ministry’s State Enterprises Coordination Department Mirheydar Ismayilov and official of Azerkosmos JSC Hikmat Hasanov.

The current session of COPUOS is devoted to two anniversaries - the 50 anniversary of the first manned space flight and the 50 anniversary of establishment of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space for Peaceful Purposes.

Azerbaijani representatives will take part in the jubilee events. As part of anniversary celebrations, signing of the declaration devoted to the mentioned event is expected to take place. The session will be continued until July 10.
