France-Azerbaijan ICT Business-Forum to take place next week

Azerbaijani Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov will take part in the 3rd meeting of the Broadband Commission for Digital Development to be held in Paris on June 5-6.

The ministry said that the commission established by ITU and UNESCO aims to promote the use of high-speed broadband communication networks worldwide to help accelerate achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. Ali Abbasov is one of 50 well-known figures in technical area, as well as member of commission consisting of representatives of private sector and social services.

Moreover, on June 7, I France-Azerbaijan ICT Business-Forum will take place in Paris by the participation of ICT companies of both countries. Within the framework of the forum Abbasov is expected to meet with French Minister of Industry, Energy and Digital Economy Eric Besson. The event will stimulate to increase the cooperation opportunities in high-tech area between private sectors of the two countries.

Besides, during his visit to Paris, Abbasov will meet with Arianespace president Jean-Yves Le Gall and discuss launching of first telecommunication satellite of Azerbaijan into orbit.

Remind that, the national satellite is considered to launch into orbit via rocket carrier produced by Arianespace company.
