Grand suspension bridge to be erected in Azerbaijan

The construction of the section from 31 to 81 km of Alat-Astara highway is underway. Along with the new road, a grand suspension bridge will be built in Azerbaijan. The length of the bridge will be 410 meters.

The similar project is implemented for the first time in Azerbaijan. The road will be laid in a new direction which experts think will reduce the length of distance about 50 km. The 26.5 meters wide highway will have for lines and and speed limit will be high (120 km/h).
 
Currently the construction of the supports of the bridge is underway. The total length of Alat-Astara highway is 243 km. The 22 kilometers of the road is being laid in accordance with international standards.
