Azerbaijan, Italy sign Memorandum of cooperation on civil protection, assistance during emergency situations and mutual activity

The delegation led by Minister of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov visited Italy on May 25-26. APA reports with reference to the website of the Ministry of Emergency Situations that a large meeting was held between the delegation led by head of the Italian Civil Protection Department Franco Gabrielli and the delegation of Azerbaijani Ministry of Emergency Situations. They discussed the prospects of relations between the countries, establishment and development of relations between the relevant government agencies of both countries as well as cooperation prospects and the issues attaining mutual interest.

The Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on civil protection sphere, assistance during emergency situations and mutual activity between the Ministry of Emergency Situation of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Civil Protection Department under the Cabinet of Ministers of Italy was signed at the meeting.

During the visit the ministry’s delegation got acquaintance with the activity of the Italian Civil Protection Department, as well as other relevant organizations.

Several meetings were held within the visit with the representatives of a group of companies engaged in the production of equipments used during emergency situations.
