Azerbaijan, Czech Republic discuss mutual investment opportunities in securities market

A delegation consisting of the State Securities Committee’s (SSC) leadership and the representatives of Azerbaijani stock market paid a working visit to the Czech Republic on May 15-22, SSC public relations sector said on Wednesday.

The purpose of the visit was familiarizing with experience of development and regulation of the securities market, as well as discussion of opportunities of mutual investments in the market and review of cooperation mechanisms in this field.

During the visit Azerbaijani delegation held meetings in to the Czech National Bank, Finance Ministry, Prague Stock Exchange, Central Securities Depository, International Chamber of Commerce of the Czech Republic, as well as with leading Czech investment companies.

An interactive meeting was held in the International Chamber of Commerce with participation of leading banks of the Czech Republic, representatives of investment companies, as well as well-known specialists in the sphere of capital market.

The event provided information about the progress achieved in the Azerbaijani economy in recent years, the current situation in the Azerbaijani capital market, as well as further development directions.

During the meetings it was agreed to pay a return visit to Azerbaijan to further continue the cooperation of both countries’ capital market participants.
