SOCAR President: We do not intend to demolish illegal homes and expell their inhabitants into the street

SOCAR is not trying to get the demolition of houses, illegally constructed on its territory, it tries to prevent the construction of new ones here, said President of SOCAR Rovnag Abadullaev.

"We do not intend to demolish illegal homes and expel their inhabitants into the street. Accommodation on the oil-contaminated sites is also wrong because it represents a threat to human health", he added.

SOCAR President noted that illegal constructions cause big damage on oil production: "67% of Binaqadi Oil contract area has been occupied by the citizens. The company must within the next 1-2 years to increase production by half, but for this reason can not carry out any work. Currently, more than two thousand cases of illegal buildings are in the courts, more than two thousand cases were resolved in favor of SOCAR".
