"Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry prepares to take upon itself the modernization projects of the Armed Forces"

Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry (MDI) prepares to take upon itself the modernization projects of the Armed Forces, Minster of Defense Industry Yavar Jamalov said.

Saying that the orders have been already accepted from the Defense Ministry, Interior Troops and Border Troops, the minister added that the MDI enterprises have technical capabilities and human resources for the implementation of relevant projects in this field.

Jamalov noted that the MDI received an order from the Defense Ministry on modernization of 10 armored personnel carriers and 60 combat reconnaissance patrol vehicles.

"Those equipments will be modernized in our enterprises after expire their effective life" – underlined the minister.

According to Jamalov, during the modernization the combat vehicles will provided with new bullets and "Shimshak" fire-control system.
