The European Commission published a forecast for an ˆ8.5 million contract for Environmental Protection of International River Basins covering Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, and Ukraine.
The contract description says regional problems in the water sector are related to shared rivers and seas which are interlinked, because the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea are the final recipients of the pollution loads of many major international river basins of the region. The project is included in the regional action aiming at protecting freshwater and marine environments in the wider Black Sea region, ENPI reported.
