07 May 2011 [14:10] - TODAY.AZ
Regulations are being prepared in Azerbaijan to increase export potential of products and services in the information sphere, Azerbaijani Communications and IT Minister Ali Abbasov said.
He believes that after adopting the regulations the country’s export potential on information technology will increase.

"Today foundations of industrial parks are laid. There is an industrial park in Sumgait. But the ongoing work mainly aimed at applying special discounts on the products produced in these parks, that is, so that tax and customs facilities envisaged for these products increased export opportunities," Abbasov said.

Work on fixed telephone network’s transfer to digital format has been completed in Azerbaijan for the first time in the CIS space.

"Today, telecommunication systems are brought to up-to-date level in Azerbaijan. But this process continues in several regional centers. All work will be completed by late 2011," Abbasov said.
