According to preliminary data, about 3,400 participants of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) and more than 29,000 persons from other categories will receive a one-time allowance, the chairman of the State Social Protection Fund (SSPF) of Azerbaijan Salim Muslimov told reporters on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has ordered a one-time allowance for participants of the Great Patriotic War, widows of those who died during and after the War, and those who were awarded orders and medals for their selfless labor on the home front, the Azerbaijani President's official website reported.

Under the presidential Order, the participants of the Great Patriotic War will receive AZN 500, while widows of those who died during and after the War, and those who were awarded orders and medals for their selfless labor on the home front will get AZN 200.
The President ordered the allocation of AZN 8.7 million from the President's reserve fund to this end.

Muslimov said last year, this assistance was received by 4,186 veterans and 32,992 persons from other categories.

"Today, the Ministry of Finance transferred from the President's Reserve Fund AZN 8.7 million to the special account of the SSPF. We have transferred the funds to the district departments of the Fund in Baku, Absheron and Sumgayit," said Muslimov.

He said by the second half of tomorrow, the financial aid will be transferred to the accounts of all recipients in all districts and cities.

"Upon completion of this process, the persons receiving assistance will be notified by phone," said Muslimov.
