SCC head: Azerbaijan to host conference on combating illegal drug trafficking

According to an agreement with the World Customs Organization, a major conference on combating drug trafficking will be held in Azerbaijan in October, Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) Chairman Aydin Aliyev told journalists today.

He said the organization’s regional office is also expected to be opened in Azerbaijan.
The office building is already ready, and the construction company will hand it over to the SCC on May 30, Aliyev said.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the committee and the organization in 2009 to open the regional office in Baku.
