SOCAR commissions new well on Oil Rocks field

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) commissioned a new oil well in the offshore field Oil Rocks, the company said.

According to the information, the well drilled from the platform 2521 on the "Gala" suite, has a daily flow rate at 10 tons of oil from the interval 1365-1350 meters.

In total it is planned to drill 12 wells from the platform 2521.

According to SOCAR, the residual recoverable reserves of oil and gas field "Oil Rocks", which is being developed since 1949, exceed 182 million tons of oil. The volume of geological reserves of this field hits 365 million tons. In accordance with the project on the development, the field development should be completed in 2035.
