Baku hosts meeting of railwaymen and transport builders

The 39th meeting of the Council of the International Confederation of Railwaymen and Transport Builders’ Trade Unions has started in Baku. The meeting will last 2 days and representatives of railways of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Tajikistan attend the meeting.

Chairman of the Azerbaijan Railways Gurban Nazirov spoke of reforms implemented in the country and improvements in railway and implementation of the State Program on Development on Railway System in 2010-2014, social welfare and rights of railwaymen.

The meeting will further focus on current activities of the ICRT, social policy and practice of social interaction of the administration and the union of rail transport in Azerbaijan, socio-economic condition of people engaged in this sphere and trade unions, role of trade unions in social welfare of veterans of railway transport and participation of workers in its corporations.
