
In January-March, the Baku thermal power plant (TPP) generated about 163.5 million kilowatt hours of electricity which is 12.5 million kilowatt hours more than the forecast figure, Azerenergy (production and distribution of electricity in the Azerbaijani regions) reported today.
The plant generated over 129,800 Gcal of thermal energy compared to forecast 123,500 Gcal in January-March.
According to report, in March, the plant generated more than 56.7 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and about 43,400 Gcal of thermal energy.
The plant has two gas-turbine units with capacity of 53.5 megawatt each. They fully meet the needs of Azerneftyag oil refinery and Azeristiliktedzhizat, which are the main consumers of products produced by the power plant.
