
Civil war in Libya caused and increase of international flights over Azerbaijan thus providing a large-scale profit to Azerbaijan Airlines.
According to AZAL’s vice-president Sabir Ilyasov, several international flights have been directed to Azerbaijan’s air space due to war in Libya and shutting of this country’s air space by some coalition forces.
Note that, international air companies had to change the direction of flights due to the war: "The reason of this is that Azerbaijan’s location is very favorable and has high services".
According to him, one of the reasons for the increase of flights is Japan disaster.
As a result, the flights have increased by 30%, since February. AZAL gets great income from increase of flights.
