Microsoft Azerbaijan organizes seminar for software legalization

28 March 2011 [17:56] - TODAY.AZ
Microsoft reported on Monday that it is organizing a workshop on software legalization in Azerbaijan.

The workshop on March 30 will discuss the legal and technical aspects of making the transition to legitimate software. Government organizations and large enterprises in the private sector will be informed about the technical features of software legalization.

Workshop participants will receive information about the technical aspects of making the transition to legal Microsoft software. The decision to conduct the workshop is linked with the demand for licensed software in the public sector.

Teymur Akhundov, the head of Microsoft Azerbaijan, told Trend earlier that the sale of licensed products in the country grew at five or six times since the opening of a Microsoft office in Azerbaijan. The market potential is large enough to ensure the business development of Microsoft and other companies that work in the field of intellectual property, he added.

Over 12,000 personal computers have been sold under the "National Computer" project as of March 28.
