Turkey invites Azerbaijan to join national modern infantry rifle project

Turkey invited Azerbaijan to join national modern infantry rifle project, sale and export manager of the Turkey’s Machinery and Chemistry Industry Organization (MKEK) Akif Akgul said.

The company’s official said they are expecting for the response of the Azerbaijani side now. Azerbaijan highly appreciated the project, but still has not officially applied for the participation in the project. “It will not similar with G3, M16 and Kalashnikov rifles.

The 7.62x51-caliber rifle was designed by the Turkish engineers in accordance with the NATO standards”.

Akgul said MKEK completed the work on three prototypes of the rifle and would begin manufacturing production after the tests.
