Azerbaijan injects oil revenues into development of infrastructure, Azeri Speaker

The Government of Azerbaijan diverts oil revenues to diversification of the non-energy sector and its development based on advanced technologies and to bringing the country's infrastructure in line with modern standards, Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov said in his speech at the parliament.

Asadov pointed out the real growth of the non-oil sector made up 7.9% last year and accounted for 44.4% of GDP. Azerbaijan currently carries out USD 28 bln worth of foreign trade transactions with 147 countries.
