
Turkey’s Ares Shipyard intends to launch naval ship-building in Azerbaijan, Kerim Kalafatoglu, CEO, Ares Shipyard reported.
The chief executive said they had special plans related to the Caspian Sea, which includes start of production process and shipyard-building in Azerbaijan.
"We are planning to bring our technology to Azerbaijan and to produce goods under the mark of “Made in Azerbaijan”. We would like to contribute to the national defense industry of Azerbaijan and to produce some goods there", said Kalafatoglu.
The company expects for Baku’s support now. "We don’t mean investment under this support. We expect for creation of opportunities".
Kalafatoglu said they began activity in the warship building segment three years ago. Earlier the company was producing civil crafts more than 7 years. The company is working together with the world’s leading engineering firms and boats and other crafts produced by them justified their superiorities so far.
Kalafatoglu said their latest technology – 33m and 38m fighting crafts were introduced in recent exhibitions and added they had new projects now.
The chief executive spoke about the characteristics of their crafts. "We are producing standard models of boats and crafts, as well as required by the clients. These crafts can be used in rescue operations, coastal guard, fighting goals as well. Our company is also producing civil crafts, including personnel carriers for the oil companies, rescue boats, police, customs, patrol, ambulance crafts, as well as combat crafts. We know requirements of Azerbaijan and are ready to meet it".
