SOCAR continues ecological park construction

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) completes the work to create an irrigation system within the construction of an ecological park in the territory of the Khazar district of Baku, SOCAR Ecology Department said on Monday.

According to the report, the installation of drip irrigation, spraying and damping has been already completed, and currently installation of the automatic control system is underway

The above-mentioned irrigation systems are installed in a greenhouse, in which it is planned to grow various trees, bushes and flowers. The most of the work has been finished in 2010.

Some 40% of the park's needs in electricity will be provided through alternative energy sources. The four wind turbines were installed in the park for generating power with capacity of 10 kilowatt-hours each, as well as solar panels with total capacity of 20 kilowatt-hours.

The total volume of electricity, to be generated through alternative energy sources, is 60 kWh. In particular, SOCAR intends to plant seedlings in the park to meet the needs of its business units.The ecological park covers 9.3 hectares.
