Azerbaijan and Turkey to jointly produce grenade launcher and a submachine gun

The agreement on joint production was signed between Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Ministry and Turkish Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKEK) within the framework of IDEX-2011 military exhibition held in Abu-Dhabi city of the United Arabian Emirates, APA’s correspondent reports from Abu-Dhabi.

Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense Industry Yavar Jamalov and Turkish National Defense Minister Vejdi Konul attended the signing.

According to the agreement, 40mm revolver grenade launchers, its ammunitions and MP5 submachine guns will be produced in Azerbaijani institutions on the basis of MKEK’s technologies.

The agreement also covers the transfer of the necessary technologies to Azerbaijan.
