Azerbaijan to host next ECO summit

Turkey will hand over the chairmanship in the Economic Cooperation Organization to Azerbaijan in two years, Turkish President Abdullah Gul told a press conference in Istanbul, according to “Star” newspaper.

The Turkish President said the next ECO summit will be held in Azerbaijan as the country will take over the organization’s chairmanship.

Founded by Turkey, Iran and Pakistan in 1985, ECO brings together Turkey, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Kazakhstan with an of developing economic cooperation.
