SOCAR intends to commission ecological park in Spring 2011

SOCAR plans to commission an ecological park in the territory of Z. Tagiyev oil and gas production department in May 2011, Vugar Karimov, SOCAR deputy head of ecology department, said at a press conference.

The Ecology Department presented the new version of its website during the press conference.

"All construction and installation operations have been completed. Gardening and landscaping operations are underway. The ecological park will be put into operation in May next year", Karimov said.

Karimov said that about 40% of the park's needs in electricity will be provided through alternative energy sources. The four wind turbines were installed in the park for generating power with capacity of 10 kilowatt-hours each, as well as solar panels with total capacity of 20 kilowatt-hours.

The total volume of electricity, to be generated through alternative energy sources, is 60 kWh. The ecological park is created on a plot of 9.3 hectares.
