Special statement on Azerbaijan made at MONEYVAL's next plenary session

The Azerbaijani delegation led by Rufat Aslanli, the chairman of the State Committee for Securities, has taken part in the 34th session of the Council of Europe Committee of Experts on Evaluation of Anti-Money Laundering Measures & Financing Terrorism (MONEYVAL).

The session covered the member states’ measures aimed at fighting money laundering, performance evaluation and the Action Plan for 2011.

The SCS reports that although Azerbaijan was not the subject of debates, the MONEYVAL president made a statement in which he focused on the speed with which Azerbaijan implemented the FATF recommendations and obtained its removal from the Organization’s monitoring.

During the session Azerbaijan also came forward with analysis of the Moldova’s measures on implementation of the 49 FATF recommendations.
