Baku to host 5th International Conference on business incubation

The 5th International Conference of the Eastern European and Central Asian Business Incubators and Technology Parks Network (ECAbit) will be held in Azerbaijan`s capital on December 2-3. A press conference was held at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport Thursday on this occasion.

“Advancing Innovation in ECA 2010: Fostering investment readiness and business incubation infrastructure for youth entrepreneurship and start-ups” is the topic of the conference.

Advancing Innovation in ECA 2010 (AIECA 2010) will bring together more than 40 international and local high-level policy makers and experts in business incubation and innovation promotion from more than 15 countries of Eastern Europe, CIS and EU as well as business players.

The key topics of the conference will include the following: knowledge, skills and support infrastructure: driving forces and barriers for youth entrepreneurship; building youth international entrepreneurship and providing internationalization support to existing companies; sharing experiences on building national incubation infrastructure in transition countries; financing entrepreneurship and innovation: different roles for different stakeholders; training session on investment-readiness of innovative SMEs; training session on internationalization-readiness of innovative SMEs.

The conference is organized by the ECAbit Eastern European and Central Asian business incubators network supported by the infoDev program hosted by the World Bank; the partnership program between infoDev, the Government of Finland and Nokia entitled Creating Sustainable Businesses in the Knowledge Economy; the Azerbaijan Ministry of Youth and Sport and the Caspian Investment Centre.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Azerbaijan Student and Youth Organization (ADSAYO) Public Unit, Caspian Investment Centre and Moldovian Agency for Innovation and Technology Transfer.
