Baku hosts roundtable on European direction of Caspian energy

The Center for Strategic Studies under President of Azerbaijan and the transCaspian policy platform co-organized a “roundtable” on the European direction of Caspian energy on Thursday.

The event brought together Special Advisor on South-Eastern Europe to Romanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, ambassador Mihnea Constantinescu, head of the European Union delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia, Managing Editor of the Journal of Energy Security Kevin Rosner, former executive officer of Shell on Central Asia Neil Carmichael and gas marketing director for BP in Azerbaijan Brian Hunter.

The attendees discussed Azerbaijan`s role in European energy security, impact of unsettled conflicts on global security, modern geo-policy of the Caspian-South Caucasus region, regional cooperation, attraction of new investments to the country and strengthening of business ties.
The speakers have also made reports on a number of issues, including European Union`s energy security.
