Factory manufacturing cardboard packaging to be built in Azerbaijan

The construction of a factory manufacturing cardboard packaging will start in Azerbaijan soon. The National Fund for Support to Entrepreneurship under Azerbaijan Ministry of Economic Development funds the large project that envisages production of cardboard packaging.

The construction of the factory will begin in the Absheron region in November, Fund’s executive Director Shirzad Abdullayev said.

“The factory will start operating in the second half of 2012. It will meet country’s need for cardboard packaging,” Abdullayev explained.

Presently, 90% of Azerbaijan’s demand for this product is met through imports while only 10 percent is met through domestic production. The project costs a total of 8 million manat. Concessional financing from the Fund is 5 million manat.
