Azerbaijan sees 34% decline in grain production

As of September 1, 2010, Azerbaijan produced 1 856.7 thousand tons of grain. According to State Statistical Committee the harvest of 10.5 thousand or 35.2% of corn field for seed was collected while 99.7% of grain and leguminous plants was reaped.

650.7 thousands of potato, 11.8 thousand tons of sunflower, 930.5 thousand of vegetables, 375.5 thousand of melon, 248.1 thousand of fruits and berries and 23.2 thousand grape were produced during the same period. At the same time 1 771.2 tons of tobacco leaf and 380.2 tons of green tea were gathered in economies.

206.6 thousand Meat and 994.5 thousand milk were produced un 8 months of 2010, up 6.4% and 5.6% compared with a year ago.
