Azerbaijan's deputy economic minister attends CIS Economic Council session in Moscow

The 47th session of the CIS Economic Council on which more than 22 questions have been considered, took place in the All-Russia Exhibition Center in Moscow. The first vice-premier of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyyubov attended the session. One of the key issues in agenda was the draft contract on free trade zone which is necessary to complete and submit for approval of the Council of heads of the governments in first half of 2011.

As is supposed, the new contract will replace hundreds documents regulating now trade relations between the CIS countries. The Draft includes a number of WTO effective standards, and covers a complex of questions, the customs duties concerning cancellation and quantitative restrictions in mutual trade.

The concept of carrying out in 2011 of the interstate exhibition devoted to the 20th anniversary of the CIS was also discussed. Participants of session also have considered the course of preparation of the project of the interstate target program of innovative cooperation till 2020 directed on creation of conditions for increase of global competitiveness of economy of the CIS states, its transformations in economy of the advanced knowledge and achievements.

One of important questions focused at the session was the project of the concept of increase of food safety of the CIS states which provides a number of measures on customs regulation of deliveries of the foodstuffs, development and perfection of channels of realization of the foodstuffs and agricultural products between the CIS countries. Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia Polad Bulbuloglu, the deputy minister of economic development of Niyazi Safarov were also participating in the session.
