Georgian ministry of energy: AGRI project will expand

14 September 2010 [16:09] - TODAY.AZ
“Natural gas from Azerbaijan will be transported to the Black Sea coast and will then be shipped by tankers to Romania. The gas will be sold to the countries of the European Union and to this end the project Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector (AGRI) will expand”, Georgian energy minister Alexander Khetaguri told journalists.

According to Khetaguri, AGRI project must be considered as the first signs of diversification of natural gas supplies to the European countries. The minister also said that in October in Bucharest it is expected to be founded a company for the realization of the project.

The project will be developed by a private company formed by Romgaz, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation with 33,3 per cent of share per each company.
