Azerbaijan's ICT incomes will be equal to oil-gas income by 2020

The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) of Azerbaijan expects good results from creation in the country of Special Economic Zones (SEZ).

“Soon after creation of the Special Economic Zones and if the works will go straightly under the plan, the incomes from information-communication technology will exceed the incomes of oil”, the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Azerbaijan Ali Abbasov told journalists.

“Approximately by 2020, incomes from ICT and oil will be equal, after which it is quite possible that ICT will incur function of the locomotive of the economy of Azerbaijan”, the Minister stated.
