SOCAR, WB to discuss reducing associated gas emission to atmosphere

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) and the World Bank will discuss a preliminary version of the plan for reducing SOCAR's associated gas emission to atmosphere in Baku on Aug. 30, SOCAR said today. The meeting will be held in the Ecological Monitoring Division of SOCAR's Ecology Department.

The document is being prepared under the Memorandum of Understanding between SOCAR and World Bank's Global Gas Flaring Reduction partnership (GGFR), signed in August 2008.

The meeting also expected to be attended by representatives of the Ecology Department, PU "Azneft", operating companies and joint ventures.
