Cost of agricultural goods at stable prices exceeds 1,3 billion manat in Azerbaijan for first six months

The cost of agricultural goods at stable prices amounted to 1,306 billion manat in the first half of the year due to benefits provided to producers of agricultural products in accordance with the order of the Azerbaijani President "State support to agricultural producers", Agriculture Minister Ismat Abbasov said at the Cabinet of Ministers meeting on July 13.

"Cereals and legumes were sowed in a territory of 950,000 hectares, of which 674.600 hectares accounted for wheat," minister said.

He said that as of July 12, about 802.700 hectares of land (84 percent) were sowed and as a result 1.594 million tons of cereals and legumes were produced.

Aqrolizinq JSC has set up special headquarters, as well as has launched a "hot line" to carry out an organized campaign to collect grain. Aqrolizinq uses a total of 3,110 modern harvesters for grain harvest, which is 236 units more than last year to effectively collect grain, he said.

Abbasov also said that despite bad weather conditions, about 680 tons of fruits and berries in the territory of 99,000 hectares of land are planned to be gathered.

Potato was planted on the territory of 66,000 hectares of land, melon - in the territory of 32,500 hectares of land, which is 1.300 hectares more than last year. Vegetables were planted in 81,100 hectares (1,200 hectares more than last year). About 450 tons of green tea are planned to be planted this year.
