Deflation totaled 0.6 percent in Azerbaijan in June

Prices for consumer goods and services in Azerbaijan declined by 0.6 percent in June 2010 compared to May, the State Statistics Committee said.
However, food prices reduced by 1.1 percent, industrial goods remained at the May figure, and tariffs and prices for paid services increased by 0.1 percent.

Prices for rice, wheat flour, mutton, chicken meat, pasteurized and unpasteurized milk, yogurt, fresh and frozen fish, sour cream, butter, cherries, plums, strawberries, cherry-plum, bananas, tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplant, garlic, onions, carrots, beets, potatoes cheapened last month.

Pasta and noodles, sausages, beef, table margarine, cheese, eggs, olive oil, sugar, lemons, apples, cabbage, oranges, nuts, greens saw rise in prices.

Tariffs for transportation of passengers by railway and air increased in price in June.
