Azerbaijan is boosting oil and gas output levels, Azerbaijan's Deputy Industry and Energy Minister Natig Abbasov said at an international conference on development of alternative and renewable energy sources in Baku today.
According to preliminary estimations, the country will produce 50 million tons of oil in 2010, the deputy minister added.
“However, this figure may well reach 52 million tons by the end of the year,” Abbasov noted.
He said annual gas output totals 23 billion cubic meters in Azerbaijan at present.
“We expect gas production to reach 28-30 billion cubic meters by yearend,” Abbasov stated.
