SOCAR chief meets Egyptian oil minister

President of the Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met the visiting delegation of Egypt led by this country`s oil minister Sameh Fahmy.
Parties expressed consent with the current friendly and cooperation relations between the two countries, also discussing oil links of Azerbaijan and Egypt.

Abdullayev stressed importance of the visit to boost future contacts as both countries have cooperation experience in the field of oil. Both countries have certain potential in this field, Abdullayev emphasized. SOCAR president informed on the intention to set up a working group to solve the questions connected with the projects to be implemented by SOCAR Trading in Egypt.

In the latest five years the oil-gas production in Egypt has doubled, Minister Sameh Fahmy said. He informed on the newly developed 64 oil deposits in his country. According to the Egyptian minister, oil companies of some 50 world countries currently operate in the country.

The minister expressed hope, that Azerbaijan could join them.
