The Azerbaijani taxes ministry has created a solid legislative framework for the regulation of tax relations, improved administration, enhanced logistical base and increased tax revenues to the state budget more than eight-fold over the ten years, Taxes Minister Fazil Mammadov told the Izvestia newspaper.
"But all our achievements are only a good basis for a new phase of long-term development strategy of the tax system. Azerbaijan can be characterized as a country with a very dynamic economy, which may manage greater works" Mammadov said in an interview to the Taxes newspaper.
According to him, the tax system faces new tasks and new challenges under these circumstances.
"We have to continue to pursue reforms and measures on improvements of all parts of the tax service. We must create a simple and easily understandable system of tax liabilities maximum consistent with the principles of neutrality, social justice and national economicm competitiveness. I think today we have sufficient intellectual and organizational and technical capability to solve this problem," Mammadov said.
