11 April 2010 [15:24] - TODAY.AZ
The time of the first deliveries of Boeing aircraft under a contract with Azerbaijani national airline company Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) remain unchanged, the company said on April 10.

AZAL will receive Boeing-767-300 ER in late spring - early summer of this year and the second - in the spring of 2011. Also under this contract, the national airline company will receive two planes Boeing-737-900 ER in 2010, two more of which will arrive in the country in 2011.

Boeing Company delays in the project of creating a new airplane Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which will result in postponing the delivery date of these aircraft for a year. Formerly it was assumed, that AZAL will receive two aircrafts of this model by 2014. Despite this, Azerbaijan is the first country in the CIS, which will receive this aircraft.

Previously, the national airline company of Azerbaijan fully gave up operation of aircraft of Soviet production. Acquisition of new aircraft will enable AZAL to open new routes to Europe, Southeast Asia and America.
