Azerbaijani mobile operators may receive 3G licences by summer

Presently, the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies considers technical points of granting license for 3G technology for mobile operators in the country.
On April 9, Azerbaijani  Minister of Communications and Information Technologies Ali Abbasov said in a meeting of  the Caspian Integration Business Club (CEIBC) that  at present the  ministry considers some issues on providing 3G frequencies to operators of cellular communication Azercell and Bakcell.

"All issues concerning reception of license by Azerbaijani operators of cellular communication will be resolved by summer of the year," minister said.

Presently, only one operator of Azerbaijani cellular communication owns 3G frequencies – Azerfon LLC.
