Wind power station to be built in Azerbaijan's Gobustan region

Wind power station with capacity of 20 megawatts will be built in the Gobustan region of Azerbaijan, senior official of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Industry and Energy Ramiz Rzayev said.

Ten units (with capacity of 2 megawatts each) will be constructed in the area for this purpose. In future capacity of the power station will be brought up to 60 megawatts.

Technical potential of wind energy in the Absheron peninsula is 3,000 megawatts.

Apart from this, wind cadastre of the country has been developed. As part of the commissioning of alternative sources of energy in Yeni Yashma residential area near Sumgait. wind turbine with capacity of 250 megawatts are planned to be repaired.
