Former Head of EBRD Baku joins Azerbaijan-based Amrahbank supervisor board

Amrahbank JSC today announced the appointment of Mr Aygen Yayikoglu as its new Supervisory Board member replacing Elnur Amikishiyev. Mr Amikishiyev has taken a new role as a an advisor to the Chairman of the Supervisory Board.

"Mr Yayikoglu’s wealth of local and international experience in finance and public sectors will be invaluable and add a new dimension to our board." said Mr Yunis Ildirimzade, Chairman of Amrahbank.

Aygen Yayikoglu has 15 years of international finance experience. Prior to establishing Crescent Capital, he spent nine years at EBRD’s headquarters in London and six years in the region, first heading EBRD’s country offices in Sarajevo and Baku, then with the IFC’s regional infrastructure team based in Istanbul.  
The existing supervisory board comprises Mr Yunis Ildirimzade (the Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Founder of Amrahbank), Aabed Al Zeera (CEO of Bahrain based International Investment Bank), Mohammed Hadi Mejai (Executive Director, International Investment Bank), and Kamal Mammadzade (Senior Lawyer, Salans).

Established in 1993, Amrahbank is one of the oldest and leading commercial banks of Azerbaijan. It offers a wide range of retail and corporate banking products such as deposits, loans, money transfers, documentary transactions and investment advisory services. Amrahbank has one of the largest branch networks (across Baku and different regions of Azerbaijan).

The Bank is a member of various professional organisations such as the Deposit Insurance Fund, National Entrepreneurship Fund and Azerbaijan Banks Association. A recent strategic partnership with the Bahrain based International Investment Bank (through a 49% shareholding), has played a key role in further developing many areas of Amrahbank including corporate governance, international cooperation and quality of product and services.
